Position Summary

To work at the Mater and be part of our 2018 Mater Nurse Critical Care Graduate Program we are seeking out remarkable individuals who:

  • Are professional in their presentation
  • Are passionate and motivated to learn and develop their skills within an  acute care facility
  • Are accountable for their actions
  • A clinical placement within a critical care department is desirable but not essential for you to apply

 

Critical Care Graduate Program

The Critical Care Graduate Program offers Registered Nurses the opportunity to experience working within the following subspecialties:

  • Heart/Lung/Vascular/Neurological Department
  • Intensive Care Unit

 

Support at the Mater

 Graduate Nurses are supported through a number of avenues including:

  • A dedicated Learning and Development Department
  • Clinical Nurse Educators in all departments
  • Supernumerary time for each rotation
  • Clinical Honours whilst undertaking your Graduate Program aligned with the University of Tasmania
  • Preceptors
  • Facilitated debrief sessions
  • Study days
  • Social nights

About You

To be considered for the 2018 Mater Nurse Critical Care Graduate Program you must have completed a Bachelor of Nursing Degree within the last twelve (12) months; or are due to complete the same prior to the start date of the 2018 Mater Program.

 

The candidate must have:

  • No more than six (6) months’ experience working as a Registered Nurse since graduation; if you have already completed graduation within the past twelve (12) months when submitting your application
  • Meet all requirements and be eligible to apply for National Registration with AHPRA

  • The Mater offers three (3) distinct Graduate Nurse Programs. Graduates are invited to apply to one (1) stream only;

Criminal record and/or child protection checks will be conducted and will form part of the selection criteria for this role.
